DTN COMMENTS: A light trade is developing in parts of Nebraska this
morning with dressed deals marked at $295 to $296, fully steady with
yesterday's business, and $1 to $2 higher than last week's weekly
weighted averages. Asking prices are around $185 to $186 in the South,
and $297-plus in the North. While packer inquiry will continue to improve
as the day progresses, it is possible that some trade could be delayed
until sometime Friday. Late yesterday afternoon/early evening a light
trade developed in parts of the North with dressed deals at mostly $295,
$1 higher than last week's weighted averages. Some of these cattle are
set for delivery the weeks of May 13th or May 20th. Beef cutouts are
expected to be lower with light to moderate box movement.
NOTE: Feedlots are encouraged to call DTN with any cattle sales, at
